Opening Day

Today we had a very long day. It was opening day for baseball. We got there early in the morning to get ready for opening day ceremonies. Sadie is supporting Logan's team, the Indians.

Logan and some of he team mates waiting to line up.

For opening day they introduce all the teams and they run the bases of the field. All the teams are lined up on the field and they have a ceremony. I was with Logan's team helping out and Rich was with Blake's team. When it was Logan's team's turn to run on the field, he didn't wanted to go so I had to run with him, holding Sadie and a huge backpack. I think once we started Logan was excited as he saw Dad, Blake and other friends cheering for him.

Logan's tierd, the Indians. Logan is in the way back, by me holding Sadie.

Blake's team, the Blue Jays. Blake is also in the back.

Lets just say opening ceremonies is a little long for the kids to be standing on the field. They get hot and tired and cranky. On top of that I had grumpy Sadie with me. I put her down, and as fast as she could she took off her clothes and starts running around the outfield. I tackled her down took the picture and redressed her.

After opening ceremonies Grandma Shelly came and got the kids for us. She took them to watch their cousins Carson's game. Rich and I stayed to help run Blake's team booth. We sold hamburgers, to earn money for the team. Many of the teams set up booths and it is a busy fun day. We were busy the whole day and ended up making enough money to buy all the players hoodies.

After we closed our booth Logan had his first game. It was in the afternoon, he was tired and didn't want to play. I think it is going to be a long season with him. Since it was opening day they got to play on the big field with an announcer. In t-ball all players on the team hit, and then they switch. It is two inning, and they coach pitches to them first, if they can't hit after three pitches then they bring the tee out. When it was Logan's turn the announcer calls Logan's name, but Logan doesn't want to go out. Rich who was the third base coach, had to drag him out of the dug out to go bat.

His first time up he didn't hit off the coach, they had to bring out the tee for him. The second time at bat he got a good hit off the coach up the third baseline.  Tonight when we were looking at the pictures Logan told me, "I was sad then." I think he was so overwhelmed and nervous.

Logan giving Rich a high five on third base.

 And he scores.

The second inning they had Logan play catcher. He looked so cute, but he hated the mask.

Logan told me when he was looking at the pictures, "I didn't like that."

We had a very long, but enjoyable day. Logan survived his first game and we are in for a busy baseball season.
