Back 2 school night

Tonight we got to attend Blake's back to school night. It was fun to go see all the things Blake has learned this year. Here Blake is showing us his cubbie.

This is a writing Blake did about a friend in his class.

Our big kindergartner.

It was fun seeing all the work Blake has done. It is amazing that he started out just knowing his letters and now he is writing sentence on his own.

Sleepy Kids

My kids especially my boys love to cuddle. This afternoon they were watching tv on opposite ends of the couch. Then I look and they are both asleep on top of each other. This is why I don't like sleeping with them, but I am glad they are cuddlers.

New Pictures

Blake loves this picture. I didn't originally buy it, but Blake really wanted it so I went back and got it for him.

I finally went to get some pictures of my kids. Here is Blake's 6 year old picture.
I haven't had any professional pictures of Sadie since she was born.

Unfortunately Sadie was not in a good mood during the pictures. She had just woken up and was very shy. We didn't get any of her smiling.

Blake 6 years old, Sadie 10 months, and Logan 3 1/2 years old.

Garden

We have been wanting to plant a garden for a while now, so today we finally did it. The boys had their friends Kennedy and Jax over so they helped us plant our garden.

Sadie had fun playing outside and watching us.

Logan and Jax planting watermelon and pumpkins.

Blake and Kennedy planting tomatoes, strawberries, and corn.

We had fun planting our little garden. It wasn't planted in a place with a lot of sun so it might not do to well, but we had fun planting our garden.

Julie's 30 birthday!

So I turned the big 30 today! Lets just say I am not too happy and feeling very depressed. A few weeks earlier my parents watched our kids so Rich and I could go out. Since we don't get many date nights we took this time to celebrate my birthday. We went out to Benihanas for dinner. It was a great meal especially since I signed up for their birthday list a received a $30 gift certificate to use during my birthday month. They even gave gave me ice cream, sang to me and gave us a picture. We then went and watched the Last Song. I read the book and loved it so I was excited to go see the movie. We had a great night, and since it wasn't my birthday I enjoyed the evening and wasn't depressed. For my birthday we went shopping and went to Logan's Roadhouse for dinner. The kids and Rich tried to make the day special. They decorated the kitchen, and made cookies for me. Blake is so excited for my birthday and everywhere we went he would tell anyone that looked in our direction that, "It is my moms birthday and she is thirty!" Sometimes he gets confused and tells them I am13, but then quickly corrects himself. All the workers just look at him as I say sarcastically tell him thanks for sharing my age with everyone. I love my life and am so blessed that I would definitely rather be 30 than 13.

Caterpillars

At the Kidspace museum we bought two little caterpillars. Blake was soooo excited. He would tell me,"I am so excited we finally have a pet!" and "I can't believe that we have a pet now!" then he would tell me, "I'm excited that we have a pet, but I am sad that we have it let it go when it's a butterfly."

We had so much fun watching our little caterpillar grow and we document their transformation.
We counted the days from the day we bought it, since we didn't know how old the caterpillar was when we bought it.
March 19th--Day 1

March 22 --Day 4

They ate so much of their food and got really big.
March 26--Day 8

March 28--Day 10
The caterpillars climbed to the top of the lid and hung upside down. They didn't move at all.

March 29--Day 11
After hanging upside down for a day they some how formed a chrysalis (we learned a butterfly forms a chrysalis a moth forms a cocoon) around themselves.

This is Logan's chrysalis that I am moving into its new house. I was so scared to move it.

Here is Blake's caterpillar in his chrysalis.

This is their new home.

After 11 days of our caterpillars being in their chrysalis they finally broke out of their shells! It was so exciting to see our two little butterflies.

Sadly I don't have better pictures of them. I tried to get pictures of them as we release them, but it was too difficult to release them and take pictures at the same time. Our butterflies happily flew away. After watching them grow and change over the last 21 days it was sad to see them go. Now when our boys are out playing they will often yell, "Mom I saw our butterfly!" They really don't, but it's fun for them to think about their pets.

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend watching General Conference and spending time with our family.

On Saturday we had a surprise egg hunt done by some friends.

Sadie loved playing with the eggs.

On Saturday morning the kids woke up to find their buckets filled with swim stuff from the Easter bunny.
