My sister-in-laws friend had an extra campsite at Carpinteria State Beach. Rich was unable to get off work, but I was really wanting to get away and relax at the beach for a few days. I told myself I could take the kids camping by myself, so I packed up the truck with camping gear and took off. Carpinteria is about 2 hours away from our house. When I was about three exits away from the beach Sadie starts throwing up! Of course there was no place to pull over for about five minutes. I finally pull over clean her up, and decide my camping trip is now over. I did not want to deal with setting up camp with a sick child. I turned around and drove home, of course now there was traffic so it took about 3 and a half hours to get home. Sadie threw up two more times on the way home. Blake and Logan were so good to her, and held the cup for her while she threw up. They were really bummed about not being about to camp at the beach. I told them I would set the tent up in the backyard. Not as fun as the beach, but better than sleeping in their beds. So here are Blake and Logan watching a movie in the tent after a long day in a smelly car. Luckily Sadie didn't throw up anymore and no one else got sick. I don't know if I will attempt another camping trip alone.
