Blake's Hammock

Today Blake decided he was going to make a hammock. Rich tied up some rope around a tree and Blake grabbed a blanket to put over the rope. He came in once and said, "It's not working mom I need to draw a picture of what to do." So he sat down at the table drew up a plan and went back to work. "I hear its working now" from Blake. He had so much fun relaxing in his hammock.

Blake's Fifth Birthday Party

My little Blake turned five years old today. I can't believe how quickly time has gone and how grown up he is now. Yesterday we had a birthday party for him with some of his friends. He wanted to have an army birthday party.

When the kids arrived those who wanted to put face paint on, we given a dog tag and helmet.

We ended up with a good size group of kids. Here are some of the kids throwing air planes.

We had a grenade toss.

The big hit was when the kids got marshmallow guns.

Logan at chow time.

What would a party be without a pinata. The kids did such a good job of waiting for their turn.

Everyone getting the candy from the solider pinata.

Blake with his birthday cake. It was so cute watching his face when he first saw his cake that morning and everything set up for his party. He was so happy and excited.

Blake got so many gifts from his friends. He had a fun party and I was worn out after it was over, but it was all worth it for my birthday boy.

Bed time

When we first told Blake that Logan was going to share a room with him once the baby was born, he was very upset. He did not want Logan to share a room with him. He would tell me he wanted the baby to share a room with him and that he would get up in the middle of the night and give her a bottle when she cried. Even though that would be a dream for me, it's not a reality. When I asked him how he would get her out of the crib and he told me he would put pillows on the floor and then drop her down on the pillows. (We then talked about how you can't do that to a baby even though it works for Logan). Well, we have been slowly rearranging the rooms and Logan's clothes are now in Blake's room and now Blake is excited about sharing a room with Logan. Sometimes Logan wants to sleep in his crib still so we put him in it until things are fully rearranged. This now upsets Blake and he wants Logan to sleep with him telling me its Logan's room now too. Several nights after I have put Blake to bed he has s out of his room and gone into Logan's crib to sleep with him.

St. Patricks Day

We had a fun St. Patricks day. Blake had preschool that morning and they had pajama day and crazy hair day. So we put green hairspray in the boys hair, and Blake wore his green pj's to school. We ate our green bagels for breakfast on the way to Blake's school.
Blake with his teachers Miss. A and Miss Jenny. When I picked Blake up from school his teacher said, "Blake's lunch was all green, how cool!" I replied "yes, we eat green food all day". I even made Rich a green lunch for work, which he proudly showed his coworkers.
When we got back from school the boys went on a scavenger hunt to find their new green shirts for the day.

Firetruck

We had a ward activity this morning on emergency preparedness. The fire department came out and show the kids their firetruck. One on the firemen climbed up the 100 foot ladder attached to the truck. It was very fun and exciting to see the firetruck and all the equipment.

Early birthday present

Blake's birthday is at the end of the month, but he got his present from Aunt Jeanette, Uncle Chris, Kayla and Austin in the mail. We let him open his present early, and he was so excited to get a package.

He got a clone trooper helmet that says different saying, and has a microphone for him to sound like a clone trooper.

He was so excited and couldn't believe he got such a cool present. He would say "This is awesome", "I'm never going to lose this", "This is a really really expensive present", "I'm going to bring this to share day at school". Blake thought for very carefully where he was going to keep it and wants to show everyone his present.

Blake put on his clone trooper costume and made a gun out of Lego's.

Logan likes to wear it too. It's kinda funny watching them wear the helmet they look like large bobble heads walking around.

Worth the Rain

On Wednesday I decided I would take the boys to Disneyland for a few hours. I needed to renew my pass and we haven't been in awhile. The weather on the Internet said there was a 30% chance of rain. I decided to take the chance since it was sunny at my house. Well, on the way to Disneyland it started to lightly sprinkle. After debating with myself on whether to continue, I decided we would go for a little bit. The first thing Blake wanted to do was watch the Jedi Training Show, which was just about to start. Since it was lightly sprinkling they canceled the show to prevent any injuries on stage. As I was talking to a worker, he told me to stay around because they were going to have a meet and great with all the characters since the show was canceled. Of course I didn't bring my camera because I was afraid it would get ruined in the rain, so I ran to the store and had to pay the outrageous price of $20.00 for a disposable camera. But, it was well worth it for Blake to be able to meet his idols. He was so happy to be able to go up to Darth Vader, stormtroopers and other characters.
The Jedi were the only Characters that Logan would go up to on his own. But after we left Logan talked none stop about Vader and would wave to him and say hi.

So we lucked out it really didn't rain until we got on the autopia cars, and then it poured. After that we left even though the boys still wanted to stay. Of course once we got to the car the clouds cleared and it ended up being a nice day. It turned out to be a fun day with great memories. I have been to Disneyland when it has been insanely hot and crowded, and I would take a little rain over the unbearable heat especially so my boys can take pictures with their favorite characters.
