No it's a cookie!

Blake has been wanting to play baseball for a long time now. He kept asking us to sign him up. Finally our city had it's t-ball season and our friend was coaching a team and put Blake on his team. He is so excited to play baseball.

He is on the Orioles. After his first practice he was on the phone talking to his grandpa and telling him all about his baseball team. Their conversation went something like this:
Blake: I am on the Orioles
Grandpa: Do you know what an Orioles is?
Blake: Yea it's a cookie
Grandpa: Well there are also birds called Orioles
Blake: NO! It's a cookie
Grandpa: Yes, but there is a bird called an Oriole
Blake: No I'm on the cookie team!

Blake would have none of grandpa's talk about his team being named after a bird, he was determined it was named after the Oreo cookie.

The next week we had team pictures and we got him an Orioles hat. When we got home Blake was saying how we needed to cheer for the Orioles and that he was so happy to be on the Orioles. He was happy about his new hat he got so I said,"Yea and I like the bird on your hat."
Blake then took off his hat his face dropped and he says, "Oh man grandpa was right!" "Dang it I can't believe grandpa was right!" "He told me it was a bird and I said it was a cookie!" "But there are cookies called Oreos huh mom."

I was laughing so hard at him. He kept going on and on about how he was wrong.

Yes, Blake once in a while grandpa is right. (but we usually don't admit it to him when he is.)

That is so cute! I think I much rather my team mascot be a cookie rather than a bird too. Definitely a story for the memory books.

Blake is so darn funny. I am saddened to hear that he broke his arm and he will be on the DL list for 60 days. Blake and trees don't mix. Remember when he fell from the tree at the POOL.
