So I turned the big 30 today! Lets just say I am not too happy and feeling very depressed. A few weeks earlier my parents watched our kids so Rich and I could go out. Since we don't get many date nights we took this time to celebrate my birthday. We went out to Benihanas for dinner. It was a great meal especially since I signed up for their birthday list a received a $30 gift certificate to use during my birthday month. They even gave gave me ice cream, sang to me and gave us a picture. We then went and watched the Last Song. I read the book and loved it so I was excited to go see the movie. We had a great night, and since it wasn't my birthday I enjoyed the evening and wasn't depressed. For my birthday we went shopping and went to Logan's Roadhouse for dinner. The kids and Rich tried to make the day special. They decorated the kitchen, and made cookies for me. Blake is so excited for my birthday and everywhere we went he would tell anyone that looked in our direction that, "It is my moms birthday and she is thirty!" Sometimes he gets confused and tells them I am13, but then quickly corrects himself. All the workers just look at him as I say sarcastically tell him thanks for sharing my age with everyone. I love my life and am so blessed that I would definitely rather be 30 than 13.Wednesday, April 21, 2010
Julie's 30 birthday!

Great story, and happy birthday! It reminds me of when I turned 36; my youngest, who was 6 at the time, kept having trouble remembering whether I was 36 or 63. She kept asking me. And, like your little guy, she announced it to random people everywhere. "My mom's 36! Or is it 63?" Kids are great, aren't they?
