Today after I cleaned the house, I was ready to get outside and do something as a family. Rich suggested that we go on a hike to Etiwanda Falls. So we packed up the family and went on a hike. The hiking trails is right by Rich's brothers house so we called up to see if anyone wanted to go along. Brendan came with us and became our hike guide since he had been on it before. The path was very rocky which was heaven for Logan who enjoyed throwing the rocks.
Here is the trail for our path, way up ahead of us if Brendan and Blake. It was a little hard for Logan, but he walked the whole way. There was a point where Logan didn't want to go any further and Rich and I debated if one of us should take Logan and Sadie back to the car. I had Logan walk a little further and all the sudden he was excited and said, "Look mom we are in the mountains, we are climbing in the mountains!" So he got his second wind when he saw that we were no longer just on a path, but the path lead us into the mountains.
Almost to the waterfall!
Once we were almost to the end of the hike there was the run off from the waterfall. The kids were so excited to play in the grated up water.

We made it to the top!
Dad and Sadie resting from the hike.

Blake had fun exploring all the rocks and rivers around the falls.
Me with Sadie and Logan.
Blake with his cousin Brendan. We were so grateful that Brendan came along. He kept Blake entertained the whole time and showed us which way to go, which we probably would have gone the wrong way without him.
Logan showing off his rock that he is about to throw in the water.
The waterfalls was so much better than I thought it would be. I thought that we would just look at it from a distance, but it was fun since we were able to play in the water.
Eating our chips after an hour hike.

Blake looking down at the waterfall.
Brendan on the other side of the the falls.
Our family at the top of the mountain that we hiked.
On the way back down. The boys like to run which lead to many falls because of all the rocks.
The view from the top.

Sadie had fun on our little hike. She would have loved to walk more, but because it was so rocky we had to carry her most of the way. On the way down she fell asleep in my arms.

Logan carrying his big stick he found. We had a great time it was a little hard , but we are so glad we didn't turn around. I am so proud of our boys for doing a 3 mile hike! It was worth playing in the water at the end!
