Water Turtles

A couple of months ago my cousin Juileann asked me if we would like some box turtles. Her friend from work was given some and she already had some and was trying to get rid of them. I said, "Yes, I love box turtles, I had some growing up!" They were the ideal pet for our family easy to take care of, and they stay outside. We started to convert the kids sandbox into a new home for our box turtles. We were all so excited for our new box turtles, especially the kids. Juileann brought our turtles over I look at them and they were water turtles, not box turtles! The excitement immediately left knowing how much more work these were going to be. Luckily she brought over a tank and some food for the turtles. For awhile Rich and I were wanting to get rid of them, but they made it onto Logan's family poster for school, so that means they are now staying.

Here are our two turtles the smaller one on top is Logan's turtle named Toothless. The bigger turtle on the bottom is Blake's and he named him Petree. We do need to get them a larger tank, and better filter so I don't have to change the water every week. It was nice when we went on vacation we just put little fish in the tank for them to eat. It was so fun watching the turtles chase after the fish trying to eat them. The kids and their friends love the turtles.
