Last night Rich had baseball tryouts (he is coaching and all coach go see what players they want on their team). Blake had already had try outs, but wanted to go and play with his friends at the park. After try outs Blake walks in the door screaming. He fell off a power box at the park that he was playing on with his friends. Rich told me he was fine and that he didn't start crying until he was in the car. There was a paramedic at the park and he looked at his arm. I calmed Blake down, gave him some medicine, he took a bath and we put him to bed. In the morning Blake told me his arm still hurt him. So I took him to urgent care. They took x-rays and he broke his wrist bone. At urgent care they wrapped it up until we could go see an orthopedic sergeant.
Luckily we were able to get an appointment that day. Rich was so nervous about his arm that he rushed home from work so he could go to the appointment. Luckily the bone didn't completely break and he only has a short cast for 3 weeks. He will be ready for opening game in March. Blake was thrilled because the doctor gave him a note for two days off of school! He told me his friend always wants to get sick so he can miss school. Blake is going to tell his friend to break his arm because you get two days of no school. The bummer is it is his right arm, which is the hand he writes with. We will see how school work goes. We are now on our second broken arm for Blake, both during baseball season. This probably won't be our last broken bone with this kid.
