Blake

Last night Blake and I had a date. We went to the Grove theater in Upland to watch the play "Annie". A girl in his school class was one of the orphans and invited several kids from school to watch. We had fun together, Blake had fun trying to find his friend from school on the stage.
This morning Blake had a special activity since he is getting baptized this year. When I went to drop Blake off at his activity, I was informed that I needed to go in with him. I wish they would have put that on the invitation since I was not dressed for the activity. I went in with all three of my kids, embarrassed, that I was the only parent not in church clothes. They started the meeting and the lady asked, "Do you know why we get baptized when we are eight years old and not when we are babies?" Blake raises his hand (I am thinking, "We talked about this, he knows the answer") the lady calls on Blake. Blake carefully and thoughtfully answers, "Well babies don't get baptized because they can't hold their breath under water." I am thinking, really Blake, come on we talked about this! Anyways, shortly after that Sadie starts being disruptive and I take her and Logan outside to play on the field. After the meeting Blake came out with a handful of goodies. I asked him what they talked about, he responded with, "Church stuff". One of the items they gave Blake was a candy bar which Sadie and Logan both wanted. Blake gladly shares his candy with them and tells me, "I was just taught the gospel and other people want it, so I need to share it, just like I shared my candy with Logan and Sadie." That made me feel so proud of him!
Blake is growing up so fast and in one month he will be eight and get to be baptized.
