One day I was cutting fabric out so I could learn how to make a quilt. Blake of course wanted to help cut my fabric. I gave him my scrape fabric and he told me he was going to make his self a quilt. So he went to get the tape and started tapping the pieces of fabric together. I told him I would teach him how to make a blanket. He was so excited and couldn't wait to make his blanket. I took him to the store and he picked out his fabric. He wanted pirate material with a red flannel backing. He helped cut it out and sew it together. Blake would push the pedal down and I would help guide the fabric through the sewing machine. As we were sewing his blanket every couple of minutes he would say, "Mom thank you so much for teaching me how to sew." He is such a sweetheart! He would also say, "I can't believe I am making a blanket!" Blake's pirate blanket turned out really great and he loves it! I took several pictures of him cutting the fabric and sewing the blanket, but sadly they somehow got deleted off my camera. I am sad about that, but at least we have the memories and the blanket to show for it.

Awww, Julie. This story is so dang cute. What a great mom you are to take time to do this with him. Rich sent Ben your blog address, and I'm so glad he did! We've been really enjoying reading about the fam.
